It's been a while since i've posted now. Still playing around with skulls, brushes (basic round of course), black and white.. and i'm a big fan of magenta so i had to try some color. On this skull i tried to not make it so soft as Mean Wednesday #4 and went for a more illustrative style. The original size is 57x77cm and there are plenty of empty walls home that will be perfect for a print.

It ain't always easy to avoid mistakes. I'm going to share one with you that i did yesterday.

While i was sketching i used a red pen on thin paper over the piece i was working on, not an good idea. Fortunately there is always a way to fix things. Digitally.

I decided to keep it old school and used ink on paper. Using ink you can't erase mistakes so you have to be careful. I made some sketches just to be sure. This piece would look really good on a t-shirt and i can't wait for that day to come.

PRESSURE KILLS PLEASURE

Feeling some pressure on these MeanWednesdays.. so i'll try to not kill the pleasure. Gonna keep it simple this time and stay to ink on paper. Working on the beginning of MeanWednesday #2 that i didn't finish.

Need to hit the city tomorrow and see if i can find some fabel-castell pens!

One month with MeanWednesdays!! Who new?
I've learned a few things under the way. One of them is that when i'm in a mood and exited of what i'm doing, and then leave it for some days.. i might loose that mood. That means the passion about it, and as for me that means the stroke as well. Sometimes i just have to take the consequences and stay up a few hours more, even if i have to work in the morning. When i think about it, that may be the reason to why i listen to the same music under the whole process. To keep that mood.

Well, i'm still on skulls and reggae. My favorite song right now has to be Kingdom Of Zion with Alboroise. Nice and deep baseline, as it should be.

For this post i started out with a picture and used ink on paper. Under the process i decided to leave the ink and paper and do the work digital. Usually i like to draw analog, scan it or take a picture of it and then add contrast and volume digital with my drawing pad. This time i tried out a technique that some how revealed itself to me. I'll keep it a secret. This is the result..

I'm picking up MeanMaclean again with a commitment to myself, the site and to you who follows. Every Wednesday i have to make something and publish it here. Since it's a commitment to myself i need to be honest and follow these words

"Whatever you do, always try to be the best you can be."

Why a wednesday? Monday is never a good day. Tuesday is ok. Thursday, friday and saturday are all part of the weekend, yeah, thursdays too.. Sunday is the "Oh, I'm dying.. never again!"-day.. so Wednesday it is!

I've fallen for skulls and i've been listening to a lot of reggae these last days.. so here's a skull mixed with some reggae themes. Ink on Paper.
